d.s. {love}

this summer a picnic quilt was on my to-do list. what's summer with little boys without a picnic blanket? exactly.
the very next week, JoAnn's came out with a fabric line by Denyse Schmidt called Picnic & Fairgrounds. i was not in love with all of the fabrics {i try to like red, but only when really forced}, but i thought they were just perfect for what i had in mind.
the picnic quilt
(excuse the dirt. it obviously is well used and needs a ride in the washer)

 i used my favorite 3 prints for the back and binding. i love the way it turned out.
quilt details:
size: 50"x62"
pattern: Rain or Shine from The Practical Guide to Patchwork
fabrics: Picnic & Fairgrounds by DS quilts for Fabric Traditions, Kona cotton Snow
pieced, quilted, and bound by me
started: march 2011 -finished: july 2011

  5. Awesome! I perfect picnic quilt. I just made her Rain or Shine quilt block (singular). So impressed that you made a quilt full of them!! Gets a little tricky where they all come together in the middle. Nicely done, Laura!
