my habitat quilt.
i was originally going to try out a new pattern and had my 3.5" blocks cut out. once they were on the floor, i couldn't resist moving them around -inspired by the pixel fabric. this is how it ended up.

i had a hard time trying to figure out how to quilt it. as it turns out, chaos is ok for the eye in a somewhat orderly manner.
{the front}
i love the use of all of the solids. i think there are around 10 different ones. they allow you to add so much to a quilt.
{the back}
i used whatever random pieces i had leftover for the back.

this quilt was a love it-hate it. i'm glad to say, though, my husband has claimed this one for himself. it takes a team to love all of these quilts!
I'm glad that you decided to go with the chaos. It turned out great.
ReplyDeleteSo neat! The pixel effect is very cool. Good work!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the thumbnail picture on flickr I new it was based off of the Habitat line. I think you did a wonderful job on the challenge. I am currently working on the same challenge with the Kansas City MQG.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of this quilt and the chaos really works for it. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of Joel's camis which are pixelated. So good job :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me. Love the colors!
