habitat reveal

my habitat quilt.
i was originally going to try out a new pattern and had my 3.5" blocks cut out. once they were on the floor, i couldn't resist moving them around -inspired by the pixel fabric. this is how it ended up.
i had a hard time trying to figure out how to quilt it. as it turns out, chaos is ok for the eye in a somewhat orderly manner.
{the front}
i love the use of all of the solids. i think there are around 10 different ones. they allow you to add so much to a quilt.
{the back}
i used whatever random pieces i had leftover for the back.
{back detail}
this quilt was a love it-hate it. i'm glad to say, though, my husband has claimed this one for himself. it takes a team to love all of these quilts!

  3. As soon as I saw the thumbnail picture on flickr I new it was based off of the Habitat line. I think you did a wonderful job on the challenge. I am currently working on the same challenge with the Kansas City MQG.
