{zigzag}

during the nesting period, i remembered this bundle of fabric i had purchased years and years ago from fabricworm. this was at the beginning of my {modern} fabric love and fascination. i was surprised when i received it that it contained a fabric that did not feel like the normal cotton i was used to. i had no idea what to do with it, so it sat in a closet.

oh voile. now, with a much better appreciation and a bit of understanding of how to work with voile, i was inspired to cut this up for a zigzag quilt for the new baby. nettie's zigzag was one of the first modern quilts i found and fell in love with. i used her tutorial but made it a bit bigger {finished blocks are 4.5"}. i have to admit, i'm becoming a lover of those pesky half square triangles (HST's). i have begun to scheme more projects with them. after coming out of the wash, this quilt could not be softer. i'm looking forward to snuggling with this one.
